The Desuung Skilling Programme

Invited by the Office of HM King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and the Honorary Consul of Bhutan, I taught digital animation in gratitude to the Desuung volunteers who carried vaccines into the mountains to make the country COVID-free. The cohort, 20 out-of-school youth aged 18 to 42 with little prior art training, learned the creative suite through exercises rooted in cultural exchange and landscape, against snowstorms, lockdown, and scarce resources. Alongside weekend peer skillshares and an art journaling workshop of my own, we shaped the media programme's early recommendations for cohorts after us, closing with a digital exhibition that opened into internships and jobs for the students
